Chief Accountant (m/f)

ESSENTIAL & OPTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 10 years relevant working experience in a similar capacity, preferably within a hotel environment
  • Previous leadership experience required
  • Fluent English is a must; other languages would be an asset
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and ability to interact with all levels
  • Ability to work independently and highly meticulous
  • Rigorous commitment to accuracy and detail
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Good MS Office skills particularly strong capabilities in MS Excel.
 
KEY TASKS
  • Prepares financial reporting, internal control, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, insurance and accounting,
  • Interacts, as required, with individuals outside the hotel including, but not limited to, hotel’s legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, inspectors and commercial and government banks,
  • Assists in the management of internal and external audits when they occur,
  • Coordinates the organization, staffing, and operational activities for the Accounting Division including financial record keeping and reporting, payroll, business licensing, revenue, auditing,
  • Guides staff members of all departments on policies, systems and procedures,
  • Submits all statutory compliances, returns and reports as per schedule,
  • Cross-checks all food and beverage invoices with the receiving report and clarification of any differences in quantity or price,
  • Prepares a weekly and monthly expenses report to all departments to control the issue,
  • Maintains, supervises, analyzes, verifies and submits the relevant inventories at month end,
  • Ensures compliance of all policies in the Financial Management of the Hotel Responsible for design, planning, organization, and coordination of all Food & Beverage control systems and procedures,
  • Responsible for the implementation of the stipulated systems and procedures in order to optimize food & beverage cost and to improve the overall results in F&B,
  • Identifies opportunities for improving and updating service delivery methods and procedures; reviews with appropriate management staff; implements improvements.
